Big Lizard

https://biglizard.co.nz/

Big Lizard is a bakery/cafe located on Vogel Street in Dunedin, and has just recently opened.
I am interested in their website as while it is a simple website with not a huge amount of content, I found their design elements and how they chose to format the website really interesting.

The color scheme is really unique, with a lime green and lemon yellow color palette.
The only thing you can seem to click on is a large button labelled "Order Online", which while it doesn't seem that interesting, I find it quite cool how they decided to keep the website rather simple and only include a single CTA that makes the user experience easy.

As you scroll down the web page, they've included a really cool design element where the main header of the webpage dissipates/breaks up. I think this a is a nice creative element that doesn't necessarily signify anything significant, but I think it's a touch that adds some flair to the website.
Below are a couple of snippets showing this in effect:

Again this is a nice website that simulates scrolling on your phone, which keeps almost everything on one page which means that the user doesn't have to go back and forth between pages or having to scramble to find the menu. Which brings me to my next point, they've chosen to keep the menu on the main page, as apposed to shifting it to its own page.
I think that this coupled with the CTA (Order Online) works really well together in that the user can easily find something that they want to order, and then simply click a button and be taken to the Order Online page.

One thing I didn't quite like is that the order online page takes you to a landing page that isn't the same branding as Big Lizard, and has a different URL name with a different company name.
Maybe for some people this is a non-issue, but I feel that they could have built their own ordering landing page and set it up in their store so that the user has the same experience all the way through. Below is a screenshot of the ordering page:

Another design element that I think is a nice touch, especially for a food orientated website, is the footer design of the website. It's a checkered design that sort of resembles a diner table cloth, but it stays in the same color scheme as the website which is a nice blend of designs.
I think this ties together the website and fills in what would otherwise be empty space:

Things I would incorporate from this website are the keeping everything one page (If I were to open a cafe/bakery) so that the user has a simple experience, and I would like to add the header breaking up as displayed above - I think that is a really cool element that could be simple to apply but makes the website feel a bit more polished.
